中国地质大学（北京）教授、联合国教科文组织世界地质公园理事会理事张建平在2024中国世界地质公园年会暨世界地质公园网络20周年研讨会上接受专访时表示，贵州兴义世界地质公园具备较强的可持续发展潜力，三叠纪海生爬行动物化石在全球范围内都极具科学价值，保存完好，展现了地球演化的历史，喀斯特峰林景观和峡谷等独特地貌也为世界地质学研究提供了宝贵的样本。

In an interview at the 2024 China Global Geoparks Annual Conference and the 20th Anniversary of the Global Geoparks Network, Zhang Jianping, Professor at China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, highlighted Xingyi's strong potential for sustainable development. The well-preserved Triassic marine reptile fossils are of global scientific importance, showcasing Earth's evolutionary history, while the karst landscapes and gorges provide valuable samples for geological research.

 

世界地质公园不仅仅是全球地质遗产的保护区，也是科普教育的重要平台。张教授表示：“兴义世界地质公园蕴含着丰富的地质故事，我们要将这些科学内容转化为大众易于理解的科普材料。通过提高公众的科学素养，公园在提升自身知名度的同时，也促进了地方经济的发展。”

Geoparks, he said, are not only places for preserving geological heritage but also key platforms for science education. "Xingyi Geopark contains rich geological stories that should be translated into easy-to-understand educational materials. By raising public scientific awareness, the park can increase its visibility and contribute to local economic growth."

 

为了实现这一目标，张教授指出，科学研究和科普活动需要紧密结合。他认为，地质公园的管理者必须具备专业知识，将复杂的科学内容通俗化，使公众更好地了解和欣赏地质遗迹。他还强调了与高校和科研机构合作的重要性，以确保地质公园的科普工作深入而有效。

Zhang stressed the need for close integration of scientific research with educational outreach and emphasized that park managers must possess professional knowledge to simplify complex scientific content for the public. He also noted the importance of collaboration with universities and research institutions to ensure effective science communication.

作为世界地质公园的重要一员，兴义旅游发展前景备受关注。地质旅游是促进地方经济发展的重要途径。兴义世界地质公园凭借其独特的地质遗产，已经成为国际地质旅游的热门目的地。张建平教授表示，兴义可以进一步推动建成一批具有故事性、吸引力强的精品旅游项目，从而打造兴义成为更具海外吸引力的世界级旅游目的地。

As a key member of the global geoparks network, Xingyi’s potential for tourism is highly promising. Geotourism is an essential driver of local economic development, and Xingyi, with its unique geological heritage, has already become a popular destination for international geological tourism. Zhang suggested that Xingyi could further develop a series of compelling, story-driven tourism projects to become an internationally attractive world-class tourist destination.

 

他说道：“通过加强管理和推广，兴义世界地质公园的未来发展前景十分广阔。公园不仅可以为科研和科普活动提供平台，还能为地方居民创造更多就业机会，真正实现’绿水青山就是金山银山’的理念。”

"With better management and promotion, the future of Xingyi Geopark is bright. It can serve as a platform for both scientific research and public education while creating more job opportunities for local residents, truly realizing the principle that ‘green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as gold and silver.’"

张建平教授指出，兴义可以通过与国内外多个地质公园结为姊妹公园关系，提升公园国际知名度。未来，通过搭建世界地质公园网络的多元合作，共享成功经验，可以进一步提升兴义世界地质公园的全球影响力。

 

Zhang also mentioned the importance of global cooperation and sharing best practices. He suggested that Xingyi should establish sister park relationships with other geoparks worldwide to enhance its international profile. Through diverse collaborations within the global geoparks network, Xingyi's global influence can be further expanded.
