2024年9月23日，2024中国世界地质公园年会暨世界地质公园网络20周年研讨会在贵州省黔西南州兴义市隆重召开。会议吸引了来自全球的地质专家、学者和世界地质公园管理者，共同探讨世界地质公园的可持续发展、生态保护和科研价值等议题。

On September 23, 2024, the 2024 China Global Geoparks Annual Conference and the 20th Anniversary Seminar of the Global Geoparks Network were successfully held in Xingyi, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. The geologists, scholars, and geopark managers from around the world were gathering to discuss sustainable development, conservation, and the scientific value of global geoparks.

 

中国地质大学副教授徐柯健接受专访表示，兴义地质公园自2024年3月加入联合国教科文组织世界地质公园网络以来，成为展示中国地质遗产的重要窗口。兴义市作为此次会议的举办地，不仅以其壮丽的自然景观和丰富的地质资源闻名，还承载了全球地质研究与保护的重要使命。

Xu Kejian, Associate Professor at China University of Geosciences(Beijing), highlighted that since Xingyi Geopark became a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network in March 2024, it has become a vital showcase of China’s geological heritage. Hosting the conference in Xingyi, a city known for its stunning natural landscapes and abundant geological resources, underscores the city’s important role in global geological research and conservation.

 

研讨会以世界地质公园网络成立20周年为契机，回顾了世界地质公园在过去二十年中的发展历程，并展望了未来的挑战与机遇。徐柯健指出，兴义地质公园独特的地质遗迹，如马岭河峡谷、万峰林以及保存完好的三叠纪化石群，为世界提供了不可替代的科研资源。

The seminar also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Global Geoparks Network, reflecting on two decades of progress and looking ahead to future challenges and opportunities. Xu noted that Xingyi Geopark’s unique geological features, such as Malinghe Gorge, Wanfengling, and well-preserved Triassic fossils, offer irreplaceable resources for scientific research worldwide.

作为贵州世界地质公园的重要一员，贵州兴义向全球学者专家展示了其作为世界地质公园新成员的重要价值，也为全球地质研究学者和专家开展生态保护、文化旅游、学术研究等方面的合作提供新平台。

This conference not only reaffirmed Xingyi’s role as a key member of the Global Geoparks Network but also provided a new platform for international collaboration on geological research, conservation, and cultural tourism development.
